The packaging industry continues to adapt to new packaging products.
Bulk unscramblers have become popular s since the 1970’s as a result of the growing popularity of plastic bottles which are more amenable to bulk handling than the older glass bottles, save weight in shipping, can have more varied shapes and colors, and of course more importantly less expensive and safer. Current trends are toward less expensive bottles as manufacturers look to increase profits and buyers minimize costs. This has created a race to the bottom in quality of containers that packagers have to work with , many times containers coming from foreign manufacture of low quality, or from blow molders who are not familiar with automated machinery and basic needs of packaging lines. With these factors to consider, todays packagers more than ever need to make sure that they are getting the “best fit” machine for their operation and containers. We recommend that packagers get a “second opinion” before making that buying decision – try a used machinery dealer as the knowledgeable ones will know and have seen many types of machinery and have a good sense of what works and what have been failed lines of machinery – the old saw “if it didn’t work or it was a one off , we probably got it out back” is more true than ever.
